Ketamine

Ketamine or special K was originally designed in the Vietnam War as a battlefield anaesthetic, today however it is only regularly used in veterinary medicine as a horse tranquiliser and recreationally as narcotic.

Ketamine cuts off communication between the body and brain, hence its anaesthetic properties. In a sufficiently high dose it can produce a state known as K-Hole in which the brain is so significantly disconnected from ones senses that the user slips into oblivion and catatonia. The user looses all sense of identity, they may no longer even know that they are human. One regular user described it thus: “first you go down, then you get small and then you get smaller and then you go down further, then everything turns flat and then the flatness turns into a point and then the point vanishes”. How’s that for escapism!

Ketamine has Powerful Antidepressant Effects

Studies have shown that ketamine can treat depression even severe depression within hours even when years of antidepressant treatments have failed and amazingly the effects can last up to 10 days after just one dose; but before you go out and get some special K to self-medicate your depression so far no one has worked out a way to get around the horrendous side-effect of permanently destroying your bladder.

Ketamine Destroys your Bladder

Ketamine is touted by many users and dealers as being safe BUT IT ISN’T. The really horrible physical consequence of regular ketamine use is it damages and eventually destroys the lining of the lower urinary tract for ever. A 20 something year old ketamine user I once saw on the television had to have his bladder removed, replaced with a piece of his intestines and now has to insert a tube up his penis to take a pee when his replacement intestinal bladder bag is full. He’s going to have to do that for the rest of his life!

If you’ve used ketamine get help to stop before you lose your bladder and spend at least 9 months to a year on high dosages of herbs and antioxidants to try and repair as much as you can.

Ketamine Withdrawal and Recovery

To give up habitual use of ketamine get help from your doctor for any free counselling available, pay for your own individual therapy and use the natural remedies on this site for heroine detox and depression. I would guess people drawn to habitual use of ketamine are probably drawn to its antidepressant effects and its ability to disconnect one from feeling anything and therefore may be helped by antidepressant remedies to boost serotonin, I would particularly recommend experimenting with the use of the fast acting antidepressant SAM-e.
